5,200 MBA students apply for revaluation

If last year University of Pune was baffled with over 60,000 applications for revaluation of some engineering answersheets, this year three papers of Masters of Business Administration (MBA) have done the same for the authorities.
The university, which has 26,000 MBA students, has received 5,200 applications for revaluation. Most of the applications seek reassessment of three subject papers — computer application, product & branding and human resource management.
A perplexed controller of examination Sampada Joshi said, “This spurt is surprising. We are at a loss of idea as to why the number of applications for revaluation of the three subject papers is so high.”
“There are over 40,000 students for various management courses and 5,200 applications were received for revaluation. But it was surprising to have majority of applications in these three subjects compared to other subjects,” said Joshi.
Meanwhile, director of MITSOB Apoorva Palkar said, “I think more than college or university, it might be the fault of the students who have not done well in the examination. They are not ready to face failure in these subjects, and that’s the reason they might have asked for revaluation.”
“These are professional courses. The papers were theoretical, thus they were expected to write long answers. They (students) failed to do so and eventually applied for revaluation,” Palkar said, adding that the subject has been blown out of proportion.
This year, the overall pass percentage of management faculty was 69% which is 3-4% more than last year, Joshi informed.
Meanwhile, the university has decided to take a call on the issue and asked the moderators to check the papers properly.
“We will now look into the matter and ascertain whether the fault with the students or the system,” said Joshi.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release the official notification on December 29 and railway je application form will begin from January 2, 2018. The applications will be over on January 31, 2019.
